REGION 10 EXPERIENCE

DAY FOUR, MAY 18, 2008

The 2008 Region 10 finished with more than 750 total entries! The last show day featured all over fences classes, youth halter, showmanship and English classes and the speed events.

The race for the Tex Tan all-around saddles came down to the wire for both youth divisions and the open -- barrels and poles had several last-minute entries. The all-around winners were:

Novice amateur – Appraised Venture and Ricky Arrington of Graceville, Florida; Amateur – Chants Double Image and Kim Ipock, D.V.M, of Lagrange, North Carolina; Select – Hotroddin Zippo Babe and Donna Charters Senick of Enterprise, Florida; Novice youth – Zippos Top Choice and Morgan Burns of Tallahassee, Florida; Youth 13 and under – Fashionably Good and Marissa Ash of Ocala, Florida; Youth 14-18 – RL Radicals Wish and Dana Wilson of Ball Ground, Georgia; Open – Loun Doctor and Rhonda LaCroix of Sanford, North Carolina.

Veterinarian Amy Bartholomew watches the roping with Minnie Pearl and Minnie’s owner Malinda Sullens. Amy is competing in English events with Cruisin On Wheels – they started the over fences classes on Sunday with a win in the novice amateur hunter hack.

Hauling in from Candler, North Carolina, Lauren Nabors and Kidsgotitall won the youth reining regional championship.

South Carolina Quarter Horse Association President and Pro Horseman Billy Prather showed Dualin Ruby in the working cow horse – the stallion by Dual Pep is owned by Carol Diodene of Ocala, Florida.

Kenneth England rode Start Me A Tab in the cutting for owner Anita Kay Simpson of Ocala, Florida. They later won the all-age working cow horse.

 

Bueno Chex Nic carried owner Jeffrey Hollar of Taylorsville, North Carolina, through the dally team roping.

Chad Shepherd of Sarasota, Florida, heads for Bob Lines of Indiantown, Florida, in the dally team roping - heeling.

Kay Gould and Its Rowdy Doody Time of Greer, South Carolina, warm up for their reining go – they won both the Select and novice amateur reining classes.

Braiding back in the barns to get ready for the Sunday morning hunt seat classes.

Cheshire Whitledge of Savannah, Georgia, rode Sky Classic to regional championships in amateur equitation over fences and the novice amateur working hunter.

Lauren Soyars, 16, of Greensboro, North Carolina, showed Night Must Fall, aka “Brother,” on Sunday in the youth 14-18 showmanship and novice youth showmanship. She’s been showing horses since she was 7.
