NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTED

Ken Mumy was elected by the AQHA Board of Directors as president of the Association on March 3. From Metamora, Michigan, Mumy has served on the Executive Committee for four years. He owns FEA Management, an environmental engineering consulting firm.

A long-term director of the Association, Mumy and his wife, Maryellen, have been involved in multiple facets of the American Quarter Horse breed from cutting to western pleasure.

Joining Mumy on the Executive Committee are first vice president Jim Helzer of Arlington, Texas; second vice president Johannes Orgeldinger of Groswallstadt, Germany; and member Dick Monahan of Walla Walla, Washington.

Also elected to the Executive Committee was Peter J. Cofrancesco III. From Sparta, New Jersey, Cofrancesco has a long heritage in the Quarter Horse business. His father, Peter J. Cofrancesco Jr., was an AQHA Director and established Cofrancesco Farms in Sparta. After his father’s death, Cofrancesco III was elected as a director from New Jersey/New York. Along with his mother, Peggy, he also manages Cofrancesco Farms, which raises and owns horses in multiple disciplines. However, the Cofrancescos are best known for raising and owning world champion halter horses and have won the leading owner at the AQHA World Championship Show multiple times.
